Réalisateur, scénariste et producteur somalien, né à Mogadiscio (Somalie), Mo Harawe vit à Vienne (Autriche) depuis 2009. Il a réalisé des courts-métrages multi-primés. The Story of the Polar Bear That Wanted to Go to Africa (2018), Life on the Horn (2020, Tanit d’Or aux JCC 2021, Tunisie), 1947 (2020), Will My Parents Come to See Me ? (2023, Grand Prix du Festival de Clermont-Ferrand).
Il a créé à Mogadiscio sa maison de production Maanmaal ACC. The Village Next to Paradise est son premier long-métrage.
